Mô tả Công việc

The Mechanical Engineer will serve as a key technical resource for both internal teams and external customers across multiple firestop product lines. Primary responsibilities include assisting customers with product selection, installation guidance, and issuing Engineering Judgments (EJs) for unique field conditions. In addition to customer support, this role will contribute to firestop-related initiatives including troubleshooting, product testing, certification support, and technical development.

This position will focus exclusively on supporting Rectorseal’s firestop business and technical service operations.

Provide technical expertise and training related to firestop products and applications.
Serve as a technical liaison between internal departments and external stakeholders, including customers, distributors, contractors, inspectors, and code officials.
Respond to technical calls and emails from internal sales teams, distributors, contractors, and installers.
Assist customers with selecting appropriate firestop products based on project requirements and field conditions.
Provide installation recommendations and develop Engineering Judgments (EJs) for unique or non-standard field conditions.
Draft technical justifications and engineering recommendations in English to a professional standard acceptable to code officials, inspectors, and industry professionals.
Conduct jobsite visits to evaluate firestop applications and assist with troubleshooting/problem resolution.
Support product certification efforts, including in-house firestop testing, documentation, and agency coordination.
Troubleshoot firestop installation issues and identify root causes of technical concerns.
Ensure timely and accurate responses to technical inquiries regarding Rectorseal firestop product applications.
Deliver training and technical support to internal staff, distributors, contractors, and customers.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of firestop technologies, testing standards, building codes, and industry regulations.
Conduct competitive analysis of firestop products and systems to support product development and market positioning

Yêu Cầu Công Việc

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related Engineering discipline.
Minimum 1 year of engineering or technical industry experience.
Minimum 3 years of construction industry experience.
Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
Excellent telephone and customer-facing communication abilities.
Ability to read, interpret, and understand technical content.

Skills / Competencies

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and construction documents.
Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
Strong technical writing and communication skills.
Strong problem-solving mindset and passion for customer service.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced technical environment.

Additional Role Requirements

Working schedule is 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM Vietnam time, which aligns with 4:00 AM to 12:00 PM Houston, Texas time, to support team collaboration, meetings, training sessions, and technical reviews.
Candidates must successfully complete all required UL TEDP examinations to support Rectorseal’s UL Technical Evaluation Developer Program (TEDP).

Preferred Qualifications

3+ years of experience in the firestop industry, including fire testing, firestop installation, inspection, or technical support.
Prior experience with fire-rated systems, building code compliance, or product certification/testing.
